    Worcester pocket watch

A friend just called to say that he has come across an old Worcester pocket watch, small so thought to be a lady's watch. He knows nothing about it and neither do I. A Google search was not helpful. So I turn to you knowledgeable folks to see what I can find out for him. TIA, Bill P.

    Re: Worcester pocket watch

I found a few internet references to "Kay and Co, Worcester"; mostly mid to low grade swiss watches. At least one of them was a old full-plate swiss movment that was probably cased and sold in England.

Without a picture (or at least a much lengthier description of the watch), this is gonna be tricky.

Thanks, Rob. My friend lives out of town, but when he comes up next week I will get a photo of the watch. Cheers, Bill P.

    Re: Worcester pocket watch

There were also Illinois private label watches with Worcester in the name, example:
    Hermann Lucke, Worcester Mass
    A P Lundborg , Worcester Mass
    Pictures are needed.

I think Kay's of Worcester had 'Kay's' or 'Kay & Co.' as the brand, rather than Worcester.

Re: Worcester pocket watch--updated with photos

Here is the Worcester pocket watch I asked about. The watch is very small and delicate. It is in pristine condition and runs beautifully. Do these photos help identify it? TIA, Bill P.

What's that written under the name "Worcester" on the movement? It's a typical generic swiss 7 jewel, which is low grade for a lever, but still a true lever.

"JEGUELIN & Co.", I think, Rob.

There were a few Beguelin watchmakers. But I note that it says WCRCESTER on the movement not WORCESTER. Odd.
