For some reason Bulova has never been on my vintage watch collection radar. Dr. Fu Manchu changed that with his post recently with his two great Astronaut finds. An Astronaut jumped onto my must have list and as I started looking for that I noticed some other great watches like The Ambassador, 23 jewel Self Winding with six adjustments, dive watches, Accutron Space and micro-rotors and some unique and interesting case shapes and lugs. Truly can't believe I have ignored Bulova entirely up until this point in watch collecting.
Found my Astronaut in an obscure location which will be delivered on Friday and bought one 23 jewel automatic and one 23 jewel Self Winding in a lot of two from an Ebay seller. There were no movement pictures so I'll have to wait until they arrive Friday to see what movements they have. One looks pretty worn and the other okay but the better of the two stuck out due to having all Roman numeral five minute markers which was pointed out by the seller. According to the seller they came from a watchmaker's estate and looking through his listings I can believe they did.
Here's a pic of the lot of two mystery Bulova's and I will post pics of the Astronaut and movements on Friday.
If you have any Bulova's please post some pics as it would be great to see some beauties.
