Welcome to Watchuseek. From the style of the lugs and the dial and hands, I'd say very early fifties or (more likely) even 1940s.

Re: Year of this Roamer watch

    Hi Clare,
your watch dates from around the mid-late 1940`s as it features Roamer`s early type of anti-shock system to protect the movement.
Although it has a military type styling it wasn`t the type issued officially to forces on either side during WW2.

The excellent vintage Roamer website created by one of the fellow members on W.U.S. may help you with more info:

Mid 1940s, I think. The Shock-Resist device was mostly used in the 1940s alright, the Swiss patent CH 215999 was registered in 1941 (although that alone doesn't mean that the watch couldn't have been made a decade later).

Trim's Roamer site shows an almost identical watch, only with a different dial colour (but the same style), in an identical case (gold plated, not chrome plated like the OP's watch). If the OP's watch has an MST 372 as well, that would make it just a different version of the very same watch.

The estimated production years of that one are 1944-1946, so I think the OP's watch is from roughly the same period.

EDIT: demonfinder posted while I was typing- but it looks like our observations match.

Re: Year of this Roamer watch

I'm actually pretty confident of those dates as I have averts to back them up. Certainly this case with those markings was in production from at least 1942 (verified and likely 1941). That said, the centre second movement didn't come until 1944(ish) and the sub-second version of that dial first appears in adverts in 1943, centre second a few years later. So these guys are correct with the dates that they have indicated.
