    You know it's vintage when...

You know it's vintage when you watch is "ultra-thin" but has a A. Schilds 1187 in it. I also know it is vintage because it is 3 times my age.

Anyone else have any more you know your watch is vintage when..., here is another one. You know your watch is vintage when it has more years to it than parts that make up the watch.

    Hi -

You know when it's vintage when you bring your watch to a 70-year old watchmaker who says "I had one of these when I passed my watchmaking exam!" - true story.

    ...it's less than 36 mm.

...it's an average watch but has an in-house movement.

    ...it's a family heirloom.

    You know it's vintage when...

...someone says "I can't believe you wear one of THOSE!"

...someone says "Does that thing even work?"

...someone says "Does that thing keep proper time?"

...someone says "Hey, an old-timey windup watch..."

    ...It's gold-filled, not gold-plated, or worse, 'gold-tone'.

    ...It ticks really fast.

...you keep checking it against your phone to make sure it's telling you the correct time.

... when it cost more to service that its worth

... when a 45 year old woman says, "my grandpa had a watch that look just like yours."

I used to do that...until I realised that my watch actually kept better time than my phone!

You know it's vintage when people ask you why you're not wearing a suit to go along with the watch (someone did actually ask me this! Hahaha...)
