Zenith grand prix paris 1900 pocket watch

    Hello forumers

There was not much to buy a pocket watch in my mind. However, this pocket watch is in very good condition. And one of the my friend who
interested pocket watches was adviced to me this. Than I was buyed.

My pocket watch's dial, porcelain and in very good condition. At this age, even in the form of a time lines often do not have the capillary crack. In addition reviewed under the loupe.. Cracks are usually the result of a foot that connects to the chassis during the forced removal the command recruits had been made by watchmakers.

my watch case made 0.800 sterling silver. The back cover had a googd relief patterns , or I think so. Inner cover show to us Zenith's medals of grand prix paris 1900.

The mechanism. 15 jewels , calibre 18 1/2 (Eighteen and a half caliber) Zenith patented by setting up the sensitive micro-regulator system is in this mechanism that can be successful. It's working fine and keep good time .
    I 'm waiting your comments...

Very good first posting of interesting Zenith. I have similar age one I know nothing about. It might be for a racing prize winner 1906? Similar movement in maybe unique 18k case. A rather nice prize if so.

And yours, ersinb, was made in 1941-1942.

Which may leave us with a problem! The movement is recent but the case looks rather older and well worn. K. Serkisoff was Zenith's distributor in Constantinople (Istanbul). Most Serkisoff Zeniths I have seen were 25-50 years older and quite a few had Billodes movements. Serkisoff were to the best of my knowledge still around in the forties so the watch may well be 100% authentic but it would certainly be, well, - unusual! The alternative is that the watch is a new movement and dial in an old case.

This link shows some of the more characteristic Zenith Serkisoff watches:

Fabergé, Serkisoff, Billodes y Zenith - Club Vintage

Wonderful reference from Hartmut. Well worth taking time necessary to review.

Ersinb- beautiful watch! Mixed views on this because as a child myself and my sister were given that exact Grand Prix watch to play with (or maybe we took it and wrecked it so were then left with it?! Can’t remember now). Over the years covers broke off, I would try to take the innards apart etc. Until all that was left was a wreck of a watch. About 15 years ago I gave the remains away as I had no interest in watches. And the irony is that now I have an interest! L I have no idea where the watch came from, also there was a manual wind wrist watch that I smashed up too. No idea what it was though.
Beautiful watch. What a shame we as kids destroyed it…..
