~1700 fine calender and moon phase indicator by Fromanteel

Thought a few members here might appreciate the quality and condition of this nice machine designed by top rated watch and clock maker of 1700. NAWCC member Dave Cooper made a second hand and did fine servicing only. One of his fine collection of significant antique time pieces.
Photos are snapshots on lunch table at our monthly meeting by Tim Schultz. Seems to be all original with turtle shell outer case. I am not qualified to describe this mechanism. I know what I like however and think this one very special. CORRECTION; top rated Dutchman credited with greatly improving pendelum clocks in 1600s. Had a division in England. Plenty biographical available easily about him and descendants.

I'm not qualified to comment, but to my untrained eye, that is very nice indeed! Thank you.

I got a wrong movement with diamond endstone in with Fromanteel photos. I missed discussion about it at our last monthly meeting, but looks like a fine quality with its triple scale dial. Marked Price, London. Maybe some one could comment about it?

That sort of thing really knocks you down! What quality, what craftmanship from those ages where everything was still hand made.....

AND much effort to make a good timekeeper out of the inherently inferior verge movement design. Actually I have heard of fairly accurate ones, but how accurate possible? art b.
