Well, after years of studying and daydreaming about Doxas, I finally pulled the trigger as a present to myself on a milestone birthday.
First impression: I absolutely couldn't be happier with my Sub 1200T Professional!
It arrived at my office barely a week after I ordered it (to Canada).
I managed to wait till I got home to unbox it, and enjoyed the "scuba tank" container and overall presentation with the adjustment tool etc.
As many have noted, it feels just right on the wrist, in fact; the first time I took it off today I felt kinda "naked" without it. (next closest watch to that feel that I own is perhaps my Seiko SKX007, but it's a long way off even still).
Beads of rice bracelet was easy to adjust (I took 4 links out), fits amazingly, and looks awesome.
The overall shape and feel of the case is decidedly vintage and yet it feels right at home with the other divers in my collection such as the Obris Morgan Explorer II -which is certainly a bit "chunkier" for lack of a better description (but still a terrific watch).
I thought perhaps the dial of the Sub would look a bit small, but it's proportioned just right, and at an angle it actually looks a bit bigger due no-doubt to the domed crystal.
Lume looks good, particularly on the hands, while the markers are a touch dimmer which to my eye suits the vintage style perfectly.
The question: is it a jewel or a tool? I suspect both -and quite competently so. I think I'll keep it sparkly clean for now, but this baby is definitely joining me under the sea soon.
The second question is...when am I going to stop staring at it??
