hand me downs from grandfather, is it real?

i've been looking a lot and i got these 2 breitlings but dont know if there replica's or real
how do i find out? any thing the real one's have or do that the replica's cant do?

they seem to be older models, but i just can't tell if its original

one of them says in the backmanafactured in switzerland
also it says "transmitter made in france"

it has a extra dial toward the bottom that has a compass in it

the other is a navitimer, seems to be newer

    any tips?

Photos will be very helpful. From your description nothing can be decerned.
No numbers either serial or model. So please take a couple of digital photos and post them. Then maybe we can answer your query with accuracy.

I think the one with the "compass" in it is a fake Emergency. I don't know about the other.

i have no idea if it has a transmitter in it or not

hell, i dont even know what a transmitter is for a watch?!

i'll post some picks soon, but

E56121.1 is the serial number, the others dont have a .1 or anything like that, its just a letter and 5 digits

also i just found out that it doesnt use a battery, it has something in it that like swings or moves and powers the watch

Hang on a second. If you look in the articles section of this forum you will find two extensive articles on the Emergency. You should be able to pick it from the numerous pictures included with the text.

    Here is the latest one...

And here is the most detailed one you will find on the net

Then maybe you will understand why we are talking about transmitters.

well the first article you posted, it talked about the serial number, its the same as the one i have

but none of those look like mine, mine looks a bit older, or maybe just more used

    Hello Youngvr4,

Todd et al. are right, as for the Emergency it isn't the real deal. It looks like an "Emergency Mission" but the dimensions and reflections seem incorrect. Moreover, the "E" in the serial number indicates a titanium case -- where the Emergency Mission is normally built in stainless steel.

Here goes a stock picture (note the 2 central second's hands):

I agree with you Don. This watch is a replica/fake. The face has many points that show it out as a fake. The back as well doesn't have the test button which is present on all models from what I can remember. Sorry Youngvr4 but there is no getting away from the facts.

google and shake and here is the fake...

there are some really awful grandfathers out there. It seems that 99.632% of the breitlings handed down to grandsons are fakes.
