Keep or Let Go? Breitling Chronomat Frecce Tricolor

I picked this up almost a year ago from an AD while on vacation. As usual, my emotional response got the best of me. The dial sucked me in and I was in love! With a nearly X% discount off retail, I walked out with it. Well, a year later I luckily have no buyers remorse, however, I am considering selling it as my collection has admittedly grown too large and I’ve had my sights on a watch that has been on my list for quite a while. I am conflicted. I love this beauty, but at the end of the day you just can’t own every watch you fall in love with. Thoughts?

I imagine the market might be a narrow one but I really like it. I retain watches if there is a sentimental attachment or gifted to me, without exception. Now, if I purchase it all bets are off.

How often do you wear it? I think if its been on the back burner for a while with no sentimental value id go with something ive long desired on my list.

What 1evilpbx said sums it up. If you don't wear it and have wanted something else, move it and get what you will enjoy. Life is to short to have regrets later.

Without going into unnecessary detail, this watch does have some sentimental value and sees a decent amount of wrist time, but then again so do a handful of other watches I own. So it becomes an issue of priority and the fact that I must draw the line and simply be satisfied with less watches!! Said another way, I need to break the addiction!!

what else is in your collection? What were you thinking of adding?

On one hand I'd say if you can think of selling it, you might as well. But without knowing other information I don't feel I would be able to give solid advice.

BTW, there doesn't seem to be too much of a resale (or frankly retail) market for these... so how much of a loss you're willing to take may play a role in your decision as well.

It’s a good point on the potential loss. Market for sure is thin for these LEs. The watch I have wanted to add for a year or so now is a speedmaster Moonwatch hesalite version. So, it ends up being an even trade if I buy a nice one on WUS and in return am willing to take a loss on this Breitling. I just may want to do it..Chalk the loss up to learning lesson on benefits of not being impulsive, especially in this hobby.

Speedmaster moon would be in my opinion a better option than keeping the Breitling. Wishing you the best luck of selling it hopefully you got it at a good enough discount to not lose an arm selling it.

i don't think we can decide for you... our comments on it being a beautiful watch won't change whether or not it belongs in your collection.

in my mind, once you're thinking about selling it, the decision has been made - sell it.
