New Custom Breitling Cockpit - Inbound

I've got a new Breitling that's getting added to the collection. It's my first quartz watch to be added since college (way too long ago).

My program office commissioned a limited run of these and there was no way I was going to miss out on the opportunity to get one. It is commemorating the move to full rate production of the F-35 Lightning II.

There will only be 26 made and I'm getting #3. Now the 4-6 month wait begins.

    Patience grasshopper....

It will be worth the wait, IMHO.

Wow, congratulations. I have the regular Cockpit and it's a most useful tool to have on your wrist.

Yeah, I'm super excited to get it and I find myself watching videos on YouTube to familiarize myself with all of its capabilities.

It will be the most versatile watch in the box.

The only worry that I have about it is the size. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and 44mm is the biggest that I'll typically go on a watch. All of the reviews that I have watched state that it's a big watch and wears big too.

Anyone have a pic of the Cockpit on a less than 7 inch wrist?

Congrats, but a 46mm on your wrist size will look huge. I would still try it out for yourself and form your own opinion. good luck

I have a B50 and they are great watches. I have had mine for a few years now with no problems. Watch is big but you should be fine. My wrist is around 6.75" and it does not wear big to me. It is my daily worn and they hold up to scratches very well. have touched up a few scratches with a green scotch brite pad and they just disappeared. Watch is way lighter than it looks, I have the bracelet but also typically wear it with the blue or black rubber with deployant and it is super light. Awesome piece.

I have a 7 inch wrist and the watch looks big, but it's light so you won't notice. Once you get the bracelet adjusted properly, it doesn't wear big. One thing, it doesn't fit under a dress shirt, so just wear it over it !! LOL

I've gotta ask - how do you commission a custom run? What does it take to get those wheels in motion?

That's a good question. I wasn't involved in setting it up so I don't know. Unfortunately, the person that was in charge of this just got reassigned to LA (California) as of Friday.

If she was still here I would have just asked her.

I'm genuinely curious now so I'll ask around. If I hear something back I'll chime back in.
