Interesting. Doesnt look like the kept any of the historic models which is a real shame. They also squeezed the anonimo symbol so it looks kinda cartoonish. The feel of the website kinda makes me feel like i am looking at a Kenneth Cole watch website

Thanks for the heads up Korneevy.

A while ago I contacted Anonimo regarding a larger corporate issue and received no response of any kind. A short time ago I contacted Anonimo regarding an inventory issue and received no response of any kind either.

More recently I contacted About Time regarding an (expensive) accessory, the SS bracelet, got an immediate reply from Holly (another shout out for their prompt service) who informed me they would in turn have to contact Anonimo directly on the matter. She subsequently reverted back (apologetically) that no reply had been forthcoming…that is where things stand to date.

I believe the present owners and management have little concern regarding the pre-existing customer base (and apparently have scant concern regarding prior ADs and distribution either).

I am fairly sure they have no real interest in the history or tradition of Anonimo, as we define it (Anonimo and Golf is the new direction?!). It might suit their purposes to‘raid’ the DNA of the historical pieces, but in no way could this be construed as a genuine attempt to honor the past. It reflects that ego aside, they have few cohesive or creative design ideas to further the Anonimo line (let alone maintain it to its fullest i.e. the Professionale or the Dino Zei lines).

The difference, following the recent presentation (if that is what it could be called) at Baselworld and now regurgitated via the newwebsite is frankly, I simply do not care anymore. I am resigned to the fact the present iteration of Anonimo bears little if no resemblance to the prior one and likely will not return to anything that approximates the spirit and identity of the manufacturer I first admired.

Perfectly stated, could not agree more. I also tried to contact them on four occasions in the past 6 months, and also did not get any response. Was just starting to really get into the brand, bought my second piece, had plans for my third, purchased the Dino Zei book, was collecting misc doodads, booklets, etc...then it all went to pot. I could tell from that first rendering that the new owners intended to have a complete break from the old brand. So sad.

Amazing!!! This new company is so fumble fisted, it seriously strikes me as a couple of guys who have no idea what they are doing. The website is littered with little gems, check it out and you'll see what I mean. My favorite one is the title on one of the pages showing the new: "Flashgips Models". Flashgips? Wow! Those sound fast and exciting. Simple spelling error, no one checked that? Or how about the scrolling text that starts in English and ends in some other language. Funny and sad...this is what has become of our beloved Anonimo? Makes me remember what Ernie posted originally: Anonimo is dead. It truly has passed away, and sadly some new kid is trying to be a look alike and using the old name. Like a really bad Elvis impersonator, these guys suck. Depressing.

    Re: Anonimo.com is live

Well, I posted my thoughts and actually felt a little apprehensive as I certainly did not want to bring people down (so thanks for the nice words guys).

However, trust me when I say that from what I know -a small amount of key information- these are very specific choices in terms of product and direction for the new Anonimo i.e. a deliberate path has been taken and we are witnessing the results (we can argue until we are blue in the face the merit or lack thereof but sadly it is neither haphazard or random)

I presume no change of direction will be contemplated until the new line has been taken to market and given a span of time to flourish or founder. I think the only aspect of remaining interest to me is to see whether or not they have a marketing treasure chest of any clout (by which I mean a few million) to attempt to give the new Anonimo instant recognition in a broader market. If not, I think this might resemble pushing a rock uphill.
