Video Anonimo - Dino Zei - San Marco's... brief dial color comparison

I had the opportunity to have my Peruvian friend San Marco, one of the 250 pieces, my San Marco OxPro Prototype and Drass Prototype.

So I do the brief comparison under sunlight and this was the result as you can see in the video ( watch it on 720p or 1080p resolution ):

Left side : Drass - Prototype Chocolate Dial
Center : OxPro - Prototype 29 pieces - Very Black Dial
Right side : OxPro - Limited Edition of 250 - Black Dial

    Hi Nelson,

Beautiful watch. I am fairly new to the horology world. I was recommended by a friend to have a look at this brand when I was deciding upon PAM441. I should admit, I love both the watches and am confused with which one to go for. Could you give me your opinion as to which one would be a good buy (SAN MARCO Vs PAM441). Wat is Ox-Pro as I dont see the that verison of the model in Anonimo's website? And last wat would be the cost of this watch? thank you and would appreciate your response.

I'll let Nelson answer most of your questions, but regarding which one to buy, they are both very different watches--kind of going from one extreme of a very simple dial on the 441 to a very busy dial on the San Marco, also the colorings are very restrained on the 441, but quite colorful on the SM. In terms of resale value, hands down the 441 wins out over the SM. Given the choice between the two, absolutely no question in my mind the 441 is the better choice.
    Here today, here tomorrow...

The Drass version on the right appears to have a dark brown dial. (?)

Loving the black dial in the center - are all 3 yours? Seriously, 3 San Marcos!? :) Enjoy...

Would have owned one already, especially with a couple recent (not 'gray') deals on them we've discussed (if I felt confident about the company's future...would have it now)

Welcome! Not an easy answer...but both great watches!! A year or two ago, I'd have suggested the Anonimo - totally unique hand crafted beauties, with some of the coolest 'in house' (rare) cases in the industry.

That said, the brand's been through the ringer of late...and resale value as stated, is poor...while Panerai's is still excelellent. Having owned a few of each, can give a fair appraisal...the fit and finish of the Panerai is one of the best (bezel, crown and movement tightness - never a flaw). Anonimo has the unique design edge though...

As in any watch comparison, you really have to hold them, try them on...what you think looks great online can easily turn out to be a 'dud' for YOU. (And that might be tricky cause only a few Authorized Dealers for Anonimo left!). And gray market Anonimos can very easily be NOS, years old.

So as much as I love the brand, it would be tough to recommend one over a Panerai, sight unseen. BUt if you only buy factory fresh, from AD's, can pretty much assure you, you won't be sorry with any 'higher end' Anonimo! (San MArco, Profesionale, etc)...and you will be one of the few owning an Anonimo (if you like being an individualist/free thinker - unlike many 'mass produced' brands on billboards everywhere that evryone owns (many who know nothing about watches - just buy status symols))! Neither of these brands fall into that category - so impressive for someone new to the hobby! Bravo!

You'll have a winner either way!!

Re: Anonimo - Dino Zei - San Marco's... brief dial color comparison

    Sorry for the dealy !

Well my friend both are nice pieces, this is not like Panerai vs Anonimo or something like that... I'm not going to talk about value or resale value... because I never got a watch think to sell it after a while to get some profit... I'm not that kind of collector.

Panerai 441... is a very nice piece, 100% Ceramic, 44 mm. 1950 case, a manual-wind mechanical Panerai P.9001 with 3 days of power reserve calibre and is GMT. The black sandwich dial make nice contrast with the Brown Dirty Lume , also have the vintage looking tan/brown distressed oily assolumente leather calfskin with Panerai PVD coated stainless steel oversized Pre Vendome tang buckle ALSO included the Rubber Strap... See Through Sapphire Exhibition Caseback always cool.

Functions : hours, minutes, small seconds, date, 2nd time zone, power reserve indicator on the back, seconds reset,

    Crystal: Sapphire (2.3 mm)

Now... to me is a mix of the 359 and 320 and why CERAMIC on the dial ? for some ppl can be cool but not for me.

Anonimo Dino Zei San Marco... this big guy is available in 3 finishes OxPro - Drass - Bronze, 47 mm Sandblasted finish Stainless steel Monobloc construction in which a sole element works as central part of the case (Carrure) and back cover, closed by a bezel on the upper side... ETA Calibre 2892-2 auto wind, 40 hours power reserve with a special Soprod Calibre 9055 Chronograph plataform, an upper module is laid on the base caliber for the supplementary functions... Dial is Black (OxPro) Chocolate ( Drass ) and Coffee ( Bronze ) Oversized round dial for optimal visibility. Rotating external ring with hours scale, preceding and successive to hour H, The main hours indexes are treated with yellow luminous coating for a superior day/night readability, secondary dial is misaligned for the 24 H GMT and day/night function, with hour indexes
treated with white color to differentiate from the main hours, hours, minutes, sweep seconds and 24h GMT hands treated with luminous coating; the power reserve
hand is painted in contrasting colour with the dial... Yeah I know for some people a BUSY DIAL !

Wrist Strap Opera Kodiak leather 100% waterproof in sea or fresh water for continuos 24 hours Exclusive Dino Zei buckle in stainless steel.

Functions : Hours, minutes, sweep seconds; 24 hours GMT indicator hand between 10 h. and 12 h.; power reserve indicator hand between 4 h. and 6 h.; under dial indicator disk for specific D-Day count-down function; date window display at 2 and Rotating external ring with hours scale, preceding and successive to hour H.

    Crystal: Domed Sapphire

Now... this is a unique piece the SS OxPro and the Drass finish or even nicier the Bronze.

Well my friend Panerai 441 and Anonimo San Marco hard decision to make for sure, just get what to like and most important what you really feel, you can have the 441 because they already in the Boutiques and more hard to find the San Marco in your country I think, so the only way I can help you is showing to you this videos I made time ago :

    This is the OxPro :

    This is the Drass :

Good luck my friend and hope you find what you like most !

Re: Anonimo - Dino Zei - San Marco's... brief dial color comparison

    Hi Jebut,

Thank you and much appreciate your response. On trying them on, I havent got a chance to try them both. I live in Sydney and have a Panerai AD in the city but not Anonimo. Even with the Panerai AD, they currently are out of stock for PAM441. So I waiting for my trip to Singapore end of this month where I could try them both as I see that Anonimo has an AD there (Red Army Watches) and Panerai their flagship store. I am excited

    Thanks again.
