    Controversy about HEX Tool

Many Anonimist's are talking about the HEX Tool...

    I just remember this :

Topper Jewelers. Omega, TAG Heuer, Ball, Zenith, Michele & Many More.

So is clear that some limited pieces come with TWO straps and also the TOOLS... because as the Anonimo Distributor USA Said in the interview : " They heard our request "

Who had the knowledge about the tools and very important wich models come with TWO straps : Leather and Rubber.

May be our Moderator can help us with that.

    Re: Controversy about HEX Tool

From my understanding any 2010 model and newer come with the tools. My Magnum did and it only has one strap. Since my watch was early in the model year it did not have the new box that has the holders for the tools under the watch tray.

Note it has to be one of the 2010 releases or newer with the "Made In" dials. This would not apply to carry overs. So look at Ernie's Novelties post for 2010 and 2011.

    Re: Controversy about HEX Tool

Thanks Michael, we are clear... no tools for Carry overs... Only Apply for NEW timepieces.

Maybe Anonimo USA can add the information on www.anonimousa.com in the Price List.

Here is what I have found out. The two straps were only specific models in 2010. The AD would provide them when ordered. This is not applicable to 2011 models.

With regards to the tools in 2010 the availability was at your AD discretion. For 2011 they are not included, but your AD may include them if you ask.

Toppers sent me a note that anyone who purchased a Anonimo from them in 2010 and 2011 and did not get tools can contact Toppers and they will send you a set.

That's very supportive, well done to Toppers.

This situation still irks me a fair bit. To have your strap changed by an AD each time is not practical in my opinion, and is a major downfall. Look at the ease of which Panerai owners can change their straps out! I could understand not including it if the hex was a common size, but a .97 which seems non-existent in the aftermarket world is a bit silly.

    Re: Controversy about HEX Tool

As mentioned most likely if you ask the AD will include them. I go back to my point in another thread a decent spring bar tool (Bergeon) will cost that same price as a set of these tools. 99% of the watches made use these to attach straps and bracelets. I don't hear people upset that they may have to go to the dealer to change a strap or you probably went out and bought the tool for your other watches. I bought a XX brand of watch that is a few thousand more expensive than any Anonimo and only comes on a strap yet is shown on a bracelet in catalogs. You have to buy the watch and then the bracelet separate. The only way to get the bracelet sized takes about $60 worth of tools. The bracelet can only be put on (and is really hard to do) with a high end spring bar tool like a Bergeon (So more money for tools). So the choice is buy the tools or go to the dealer. I see half the members here own this brand of watch and this has been their practice for over 20 years.

Totally understand and I share your point...BUT why customers need to ask... Anonimo USA clearly said: " ...Absolutely. Every Basel 2010 release will come with a hex screw (like the San Marco) with screw drivers so you can change your own strap your own way. Many limited editions will come with two straps signifying that we feel like we've heard this request and now it is answered. Tools will come with every watch and anyone can do it. I know the question that collectors will ask is will new lugs be sold for old watches that were originally made with the three hand tool system, and we will not be able to do that..."

Now, I don't think so that what they said was only for 2010... In my understand is from 2010 and beyond.

    Re: Controversy about HEX Tool

Nelson three points. Things change year to year so you can't put a forever clause on statements. Second while this was an interview with Toppers and Anonimo US that did not mean it was world wide and everywhere (Scott can only speak for the US). The number of Anonimo AD is less to support a smaller number of available stock so some previous AD may no longer be AD. Last there was a shortage of tools that is now fixed. If you bough a new watch from a AD in 2010 in the US ask them to get you a set of tools. Those are the only watches Scott is talking about. Pre or post 2010, Non US, Non AD or preloved would not apply.

That is true. I got my Anonimo from Toppers but no tool came with the watch. I contacted them and and they sent the tool out to me.
