    DDate on Cheap Japanese Bracelet?!!

    I'm nuts.

Let's just get that out of the way. Lol

So, I traded my old millemetri along with the steel bracelet and I really miss the steel! I'm not too keen on spending soooo much again on another one and I couldn't find any good aftermarket ones online. I know anything other than the beautiful Anonimo steel is blasphemy but like I said, I'm nuts!

Since I'm not the most patient guy in the world, I decided to take an old Seiko bracelet I had lying around from my SNZG. I had to grind the end links a tad cause the curve was too deep.

Obviously, it's not an exact fit. But...I must say, I'm surprised! Pleasantly so. Of course, I still need to shape the end links a tiny bit more but for now I'm happy with the outcome!

Re: DDate on Cheap Japanese Bracelet?!!

Two issues with this bracelet, first is the end link shape. It slopes down more sharply. I guess this can be remedied by curving the steel but it seems like a lot of work. End links are the toughest to fit so I'm happy I got it to fit.

Second is finish. Obviously, this came from a hundred dollar watch, so it's not as finely done. Anonimo is famous for finishes. Seiko 5 not so much lol. But again, we're comparing finishes on a 10 dollar bracelet (?) Vs 800+ on an OEM bracelet. Bloody good enough for 10-20 bucks!

That said, I think it's passable. Nimo's really look amazing in steel so I'm glad I found an alternative while I wait for a good deal on an original one. No rush though. Haha

    Thanks!

The giveaway here is the end link, finish and thickness. But you need to really look to notice.

Unlike with other examples, especially those with straight end links, or those with a really different design like a super engineer type of design - which you know are aftermarket even with a quick glance.

What I'm curious over is how a Halios bracelet would look. ..Though I would need to do a lot of work on the solid end links.

Wow, if you told me you were going to use a Seiko 5 bracelet, I would have thought you were nutz. However, it works for some strange reason. Looks passable on your writs. Great job!

Haha well it had 2 things going for it, 1. It's cheap so no problem modding it 2. It was just collecting dust. Plus I figured that since we put cheap nato, rubber, why not steel?

The design itself kind of works because the center links are thick so the overall look is balanced. And I totally lucked-out on the end link fitting.

Bracelet measures 3mm thick. I think stock is 4mm? So this isn't far off. And again I was lucky that the end link angle sort of follows the bezel slope. Lol
