Firenze fans! Am I going nuts? New Anonimo SA models are calling me!

Here's your chance to totally make fun of me for liking the new/upcoming Nautilo Sailing editions. Aside from the name, these have little in common with our beloved Dino Zei models. However, I find them interesting on their own merits.

The double markers at 12, 4, and 8 strike me as an Anonimo-ish touch. I am also a fan of the new ceramic dive bezels. I had long wished to see Firenze produce a model with a rotating bezel. While I haven't seen one of these new models in person, the bezel design looks very cohesive to me.

The variety of colors/combos is very cool, IMO, and serves a bit of the old Firenze approach of providing variety so every watch is uniquely personal.

What do you guys think? (Yeah, it's really me. No, my account has not been hacked. And no, I haven't received any compensation or consideration for these comments. And yep, I may be nuts!)

    I'm with you.

The new Nautilo is looking good. I'm still not crazy about the name but the new dial and ceramic bezel really make it look much better.

These new Militare Chronographs are awesome too!

Agreed. They look great in the photos. Would love to see one in person, but I don't believe there is an AD in San Francisco.

Dislike. Look like an afterthought collection of design elements borrowed from elsewhere... (PAM submersible, anyone?). Logo is a massive turn-off, as much as the ridiculous seconds hand. Considering you'd be unlikely to ever sell these if you get tired of them in the future, why waste money on a product that is neither unique nor sought after? For same money (or even less)..buy a Seiko or Certina or Oris, better value for money, cheaper etc., still going to lose almost everything you've put into a piece on re-sale, but at least they are somewhat more authentic and definitely better/professionally designed watches with relatively long history, some brand cache and sizeable following.

korneevy, that's the stuff! Thanks for the reality check. Anyone else have 2 cents to throw in? Where are the rest of you old-timers? Nelson? Feuersteinerfelt? Phunky?

I'm not really an old timer and have since sold my DZ to move on to other watches, but if you like these be brave and get one. Then you can post photos, tell us how cool it is... Then when you get tired of it and - as korneevy says - you want to sell it but can only get peanuts for it, sell it to me. See, I kind of like them too but I'm waiting for a nice pre-owned one at a substantial discount.

Lol! I probably should! You know, the all-stainless Nautilos can be found for around $1,200. And it looks like these latest versions range from $2,000 to $2,900 MSRP. Not exactly cheap, but perhaps not so bad of a risk. I'm not saying that I'm brave enough to take the plunge, but hey, I've made worse decisions...

They don't do anything for me. The closest any of them come to being interesting is the 20th Anniversary Vintage model, but the revamped dial doesn't work for me. I've had my eye on the market for a number of years looking for an original Militare Vintage in pale. I will continue to watch for that model.
