    First Edition Militare Chrono Problems?

Hi Guys. Just wondering if there are known problems with the First Edition Militare Chrono?

I just bought a left over new First Edition from Proworth. The watched showed up on my doorstep 2 days later and is beautiful! Brand new with tags, paperwork, etc., but the chronograph doesn't function properly.... I understand how the lower left button starts and stops the chrono, and the upper left resets the chrono, but when I push the lower left button, the large second hand NEVER moves. And now the weirdest part of the story.... The lower left button starts and stops the entire watch! When I say that, I mean, the lower left button stops and starts the small second hand dial at the 9 0'clock position, but, not only does it start and stop that dial, it starts and stop the main watch! What in the world? Has anyone seen this before?

Proworth has been very apologetic and has told me they will replace the watch, but I'm thinking I should stay away from the "First Edition" Militare Chrono...?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Remember those guys have old stock... many years stored... so needs to be serviced for sure.

Never before an issue like that in the forum or in my knowledge.

The safe part is they give you warranty and also I know they do service and repairs for Anonimo in Stoll you you are good to go with them.

ProWorth is also a good outfit, so you can certainly work something out with them.

In my experience, Nelson is right & so is StefB. Proworth is a good outfit, and they ought to do an exchange or something. But, no matter what you do w/ grey market watches you can almost always guarantee they have either been sitting or constantly tinkered with for years. They have some pretty nice watches so I would hedge my bet on an exchange if you got a phat deal & reallywant that model. However an overhaul would cost over $500, but you could guarantee it would come back perfect...My $0.02...

Thanks guys for your comments. This post was in no way trying to bash Proworth, they have been absolutely fantastic in dealing with the issue. They overnighted the defective watch back to their store and have already replied saying they see the issue, and will overnight a replacement back to me.

I guess my main concern, or question, was wtih the unit itself and if it's known it have problems...? Proworth stated they've never seen a unit do this. I was thinking of getting a "Second Edition" because of this.

    Thanks again
