    Joined the Nautilo club

My Nautilo arrived today. Thought you all might like to see it.

As some of you know I've been on the hunt for a Dino Zei for a while now.

Of all the Anonimo/Dino Zeis the Nautilo has been my favorite. But it's also
a rare watch indeed to find for sale or trade. So in my search for a Dino Zei

Well, by sheer luck my prior attempts at acquiring a Dino Zei fell through. These
prior attempts were Argonautas (2), a Glauco (1), a San Marco (1), and a couple of Marlins.

I'm glad these possible deals didn't work out because in the end I found - for me - what is
the coolest Dino Zei going. A bronze Nautilo with a blue dial. Until I found this particular
watch I'd never seen nor heard of a Nautilo with a blue dial.

As you can see from the photos I've posted its a deep, dark blue - almost black or grey.

As you can also see from the photos, this particular watch has a beautiful patina.

And as you can see this is P01 of a prototype series of 30. Yep, couldn't be happier.

If any of you know anything about blue dialed Nautilos I'd love to find out what you know.

    Here with are the photos...

    The unboxing..

    Opening...

Even a brand new DZ Kodiak strap!

Leonardo and these watches have some things in common...

    Backside...

    Love that dial...

    Hope you enjoyed those photos.

Blue dialed is simply fantastic...probably the best version but I must admit I also like the bronze dialed version as well....

Really awesome find! From where did you get it?

I do know that the blue dial Nautilo was also made with the steel case, most likely a 'prototype' as well.

Big congrats! I would love to see it with the case polished a bit to see more of a contrast with the subtle dial.

    Hi StefB,

Well, like I said I've been looking for a while. Just happened to go out to eBay to see what I could find and there it was. Being sold by NY Jewelers out of Chicago. As soon as I saw it I immediately called them and put a deposit down on the watch. Told my wife that if I sold my Omega PO in time I'd buy the Dino Zei (deposit was refundable, held the watch for a week). Well, turns out patience is a strong suit of mine. And since I'd missed out on other DZs, and since this was THE Grail for me I just went a head and bought it. Still need to sell the PO but now I can take my time and get a better price for it (or so I've told my wife!).

By the way, I HIGHLY recommend NY Jewelers in Chicago. Jim (salesman) and Chandler (sales assistant) were a pleasure to deal with and I had the watch in my hands less than 24 hours after making the deal. Watch was exactly as described too.

It's a used watch and being a very meticulous guy I think it is in wonderful condition. Those tiny marks you are reffering to on the bezel can easily be polished out if the owner would be bothered but they are so tiny I would leave them.

It has a bronze case, a few dings and marking on the bezel adds to character.
