    letter to Anonimists

    Dear Anonimists,

In 2004 I started as an independent distributor of Anonimo.
It is now more than three years ago, in 2009, that Federico Massacesi handed over the management of the legacy of Florence watchmaking.
It was a real honor to be part of the continuation of this heritage.
I, together with the people in Florence, put a lot of effort and passion into this long-term project,
to try and make it a success story for everybody involved, including you, the Anonimist.
Last summer a new partner came into the company. As a condition I had to give up my shares.
About two months ago the shareholder dismissed me from my function.
I feel sorry I haven't been given a chance to complete this project.
Improve customer relations and after sales service were on the high priority list.
Finally, I have no further info on the new owners nor on the direction they want to follow.

    Yours,

    David Cypers

    Dear David,

Thank you for your explanation. Your enthusiasm for Anonimo was always self evident, so it is sad to hear what has transpired, especially over the past 12 months.

Perhaps there are forum members that have not seen the Anonimo videos produced by Montres 24 for Baselworld etc where you introduce Anonimo models, if so please click through to view

    Anonimo Firenze Watches

As Torromoto has said, it is a shame that the longer term plans can now never be realised. If nothing else under your tenure the aesthetic that many of us appreciated was in safe hands!

I wish you all the best in your future endeavours

    Re: letter to Anonimists

Thank you for the letter David, I'm sure we all very much appreciate hearing from someone who was so close to the brand for as long as you were. It's a definite shame to see you no longer at the helm, and to see such a radical change of direction in design, and what also looks to be manufacture.

While there were obvious shortcoming from the brand, it looks as though you had these on your 'to-do' list. We all wanted to see some change, whether that be price points, distirbution networks, after sales servicing or marketing, I think we can all appreciate the fantastic product that you guys made. No matter which other watches I tried I always came back to Anonimo for their unique design and brilliant case workmanship. Thanks for all of your efforts.

All the best for the future.

Thanks for sharing, David. I remember when I began learning about the brand, I watched those videos with you and DZ and to me you have kind of become the face of the Nimo. Curious to see what the new "face" of Swiss-made Anonimo will look like, so packing my bags for Bazel next week to find out....

Wishing you well in the future undertakings and I am somehow sure that you will not be going too far from the world of watchmaking:)

Good update and info...Thank you for that....This helps solidify my position that Anonimo is doomed, at least for me they are...I dont trust the designs, i dont trust their care and service ability, and will not purchase any new pieces...I will stick to the ones i own and perhaps some used "historic" pieces, but no New money will go to them ....

    Good luck~

This first and last open communication marks the end of the anonimo at firenze. All and ups and downs serve as a wonderful case study for all the wis. I learned a lot. Wish it didn't have to end so soon. Arrivederci~

    Re: letter to Anonimists

I'd like to know if the original casemaker is "still in" wich I kind off expect. Just because the CEO and owner is someone else doesn't mean they'll be doing everything differently..They obviously have "new" ideas on how the dials should look and on wich models they would like to concentrate. Nelson mentioned some models like the Dino Zei line won't be coming back this year (maybe never)..Anyways..still a lot unclear.

I said last Piece i got because they never hoing to complete production of previous models Anonimo and Dino Zei... Just common sense because they move all from Firenze to Luxembourg so to me Casemakers from Firenze are out of the picture.

Now who really knows? If the drwas they show up are firenze cases and swiss movements or all swiss made( or chinese cases

Just we need to wait to know more details on Basel presentation !!!!

Again I hope Rob can help us !!!!!
