    Misc thought:

I stopped buying Anonimo's once they started putting the name on the watch face because it seemed to me like them forsaking their original vision...odd how shortly thereafter here we are. Sadness.

That's exactly why I never purchased one with the name printed inside the logo. Although,I wasn't sure if the company had an original vision besides "hey, we are the people who used make panerai," I always remember when I first saw the militare in a magazine and read the reason why they didn't print the company name on the dial, I was hypnotized. Wow there's a brand puts the customer in front as their unique identify... Wait a minute, it doesn't make sense really, because each watch represent the individual wearing it, then it will have no identity. But what a brilliant brilliant marketing move.

    Then~ yes, it's sadness.

    Yup.

Whilst I can’t claim buying a watch with ‘Anonimo’ written on the dial was something I faced personally, it was disappointing and prescient.

It spelled a loss of confidence and conviction. At that point Anonimo had already sold several thousand pieces so people understood the concept well enough.
I always presumed someone (arriving later?) rather witlessly/nervously perceived not having the name on the dial was a mistake and branding the dial might provide a quick fix to the company’s woes.

Yet, it was never one of the things that needed to be ‘fixed’.

You captured it perfectly, while there certainly and obviously were fixes needed, one that was not was the name. As you said so succinctly, "it was never one of the things that needed to be 'fixed'.
