Photos of Marlin Bronze "Coffee Black"

    Hello Anonimo Forum!

Since bronze watches are increasingly in vogue these days, it seems like a good time to revisit the Marlin Bronze. Since last year we've had the photos up of the Marlin Bronze where the dial looks to be a similar shade of chocolate brown to the new 2010 version of the San Marco. It turns out that this photo was a proto-type that never really shipped this way and the watch only ships in the "Black Coffee" dial. Sorry to the two clients who wanted to order it in the last week based on our having the prototype picture on our site way too long! You know who you are :)

Our Site photos of the prototype are below.

So how does the Black Coffee Dial compare to a matted black Millimetri Polluce dial? We did a photoshoot where we tried to get the color levels right to show the true color of the dial. We will be replacing our non existent chocolate pictures with the black coffee pictures on our site shortly. The difference between black coffee and black is very subtle.

Thumbs Up Re: Photos of Marlin Bronze "Coffee Black"

I love that watch, it would go great with my "regular" Marlin.

Now, in these pictures you have posted here the dial looks black, but the one on your web site it looks brown. As you stated the prototype looks more brown, but you say this color is "coffee brown", does that mean it still looks a little more brown than the pictures posted here?
I might have to get one of these suckers for myself and see it in person.
    Cheers,
    Rob

Re: Photos of Marlin Bronze "Coffee Black"

In the anonimo PDF, they call the color "black coffee".
I think the difference between black coffee and anonimo Millemetri matted black is very subtle.
There isn't really any brown in it.
Here is a color pallette on the web I found for black coffee which I think is very close to it.
Color / 1F0505 / coffee black :: COLOURlovers. Looks pretty similar.

Re: Photos of Marlin Bronze "Coffee Black"

Thanks for the reply and color example Rob. Looking at the color sample you listed it does look to have a little brown to the color, kind of a "cooked steak" color.
    Cheers,
    Rob
