Picture Project : Anonimo Bronze case refinish

    Dear Anonimists,

I got finally a bronze piece a Polluce 10 Anni Bronze in Orange dial.

I got it with a shiny look... was polished... I take the risk because the case have many imperfections like scratches and nicks... My defective SD card take away the photos when I go it thats why i can't do a before and after.

First thing come to my mind was call Stoll & Co. because of his highest rate on service and work... BUT they told me " We need to send ALL THE BRONZE PIECES to Anonimo SPA - Italy... we can't perform a refinish on BRONZE PIECES ".

My watchmaker who is my friend, he has beeen done refinish work on my Polluce SS/Gold and the Professionale Crono and i was more than satisfied and just in a couple of days... I take my BRONZE and visit him... He told me that he never touch a timepiece like that ( Bronze material ) but he told me Im going to do his best... So i wasn't too happy about it but I trust on him because his Knowledge... and also I said please let me know when you take apart all the components to take some pictures and video.

Two days after he called me: " Nelson... i can't remove the bezel... I tried and nothing, may be the construction is not the same as the one I do before ( Polluce SS/Gold ) or may be because of the material and I don't want to mess with your timepiece ".

I do a research and ask people who know about the construction and they told me the same : " Polluce... all is the same construction ".

I called back my friend and I told him : " Please try it one more time if you need to apply more force to remove it just do it because I'm 100% sure that is same construction as the one you did before "... He said : " YOU know what can happen right " so I said : " Just do it ".

He call me in the afternoon same day and he said : " Is on pieces now... ready to take your photos ".

Again, he is an High level professional and well experienced watchmaker... Also I required to refinish the case and FORGET about the Sand Blasted finish on the sides and do all the case brushed finish... and when I saw it I was so happy because work was done right as I request... BUT at the moment i take the bezel in my hands I got an Idea... High Polish the side like the SS/Gold have it but the whole side of the bezel... And my final request... High Polish the buckle in order to match the crown and the He valve... Pictures here : Polluce Bronze... MODS !

Because of the lack of a BRONZE BUCKLE... I don't like any on the market right now... I prefer an Anonimo Bronze Buckle... so in the mean time I'm very happy with this mod.

I hope you guys enjoy the pictures and the video :

Question..Do you press the bezel on the middle case or does it need to be screwed in?? I do see some screw threads on the inner side so.......I do think it's screw in right??

Yes my friend, you are right... bezel needs to be screwed in the case.

Hey Nelson. I tried writing you a pm about this but your box is full. I'm wondering what process was used to remove the bezel.

    Nelson,

I was wondering - would your guy be willing to try letting the lugs out 1mm each?

    ;)

    Just wondering,

Your watchmaker did some very fine work on the refinishing with the brushed satin finish. Bronze is very tricky material to work with especially when you try doing a proper satin finish. Your watch smith seems to be very experienced and capable professional. Great work overall!!!

Very nice, what keeps the bezel/crystal water tight? is there a gasket between the bezel and case?

    Thanks.
