Was this strap ever really made and sold ?

Noticed this strap some time ago in the add on the right. Black Kodiak strap with orange stitching. Never found any real life pictures but love the look. Is this just a mock-up or were these sold?

I had a couple of Kodiaks like that--not orange stitching though--more like copper or something a little less bright than "orange."

Honestly, though, why bother with a Kodiak? You can get a very high quality custom made strap using whatever materials and color scheme you want for equal to or less than the cost of the Kodiak, were you able to come across one at this point in time.

I agree - that whole pricing of straps at 250$ a pop and rubber at 180$ without buckle was the kind of non sense that got the original company into trouble and priced them out of their market base. I always felt that fair prices should be $80'for leather, $50 for rubber, and these things would have flown off the shelves of they were priced right... Heck I have bough a few just for the kicks. What's more interesting is that these straps do appear in liquidation sales threads here and there, and the asking prices for brand new Kodiaks are $75, which means the market have finally balanced itself;)

Agreed. At $80-100 I like Kodiak's, especially the later model units with beige on the inside as they are ridiculously supple. The unit that came on the San Marco was the best strap I've ever owned. Love their rubber strap too, but again $180 is a bit much.

Still, they're a lot cheaper than the extortionary prices PAM charge for their straps!

Well, the ones on $75 are pretty old stock WatchNet: Trading Post: FS: Anonimo Straps-New & Unused and with issues

But 250 retail for new ones are fair price for what they are... now the latest ones are nice and soft than old ones... but always if cheaper better

I think $250 for most straps is a bit rich, but then again I'm cynical and believe that the vast majority of straps are way overpriced given what they are, especially if produced in any great quantity.

Thanks. At least I know I'm not chasing ghosts. Any recommendations to get a strap made exactly like this one? Except for the branding of course.

I'm sure Toshi could knock one up for you: :: TOSHI STRAPS :: Handmade leather watch straps ::

Tell him it's for an Anonimo and he'll ensure it fits.
