A lot of that money has been spent by Manchester City, which means it has come from the pocket of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

As the trillionaire brother of the ruler of Abu Dhabi, he can probably afford it.

All the same, the finances of the Premier League are crazy.

If they just donated 1% to me to spend on G-Shocks, I could buy a G-Shock for all G-Shock forum members and instantly double my amount of Gs

For the rest, I actually don't know much about football.

    Cheers,

Given the way that the likes of the England squad performed in the World Cup, I wouldn't give more than two bob for any of them.

But so long as the TV-watching football fans are prepared to spend £20 per month on their satellite TV subscriptions to see Premiership matches, the league will remain awash with money none of them deserve.

Not much of the money is being spent on English players, and that, you might conjecture, is part of the problem.
