    11 classic men's watches - slightly off topic, no G's :)

11 Classic Watches for Men - Yahoo! Shopping

I have to say the only one's I agree with are the Hamilton, the Omega and the Panerai.
    Your thoughts are welcome.
    Cheers,

P.S. I guess we could throw in the Rolex, but for the $'s I'd buy something else
P.P.S. At least Casio made Esquire's weekend watch rotation…

i did not read since they didn't mention G-shock

with everyone carrying a cellphone or two these days, watches to me is mainly/simply just a fashion/necessary-accessory statement to each person's own perception
so it is not a "time-piece" to show off your taste or telling people who you are (classic, rich, good taste) because mostly no-one gives a damn, or has enough knowledge to appreciate it
and since its usefulness is much less greater than the past, people pay less attention what's on your wrist, too.

lastly, most of yahoo writers suck

wow, some tense surrounding this place. flow, breath, feel, again and peace.

The article is more on the button than similar magazine-type articles I've seen before. I particularly like the mention of the Hamilton and Zenith El Primero - you need to know at least a bit about watches to mention those.

And G-fob - your argument is a little hard to follow...
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

It's worth noting that the article in question was originally from Esquire. Obviously a G would not be included (based on the other watches), but it's actually not a bad list.

Also, Esquire does mention at least one G-Shock in another article about inexpensive "weekend watches."

I kept linking through the Esquire articles. Wow. Novelle Riche. In other words, flashy, tasteless, but confidently egotistical. No thanks.

Yep. And honestly, I can think of better Gs in the price range than the one they chose.
