    15 years between Gs

Forgive me Father for I have sinned... it's been 15 years since my first G!
Now I have two, and I fear I'm back on he wagon!

I have a '97-ish DW-004X-7T that I bought for snowboarding back when my body could handle it - inspired by Terje Håkonsen, if I recall correctly, and I now also have a GF-8250BS-1JR which is a 2013 release. I haven't worn the Frogman yet, but I will next week... it is my birthday present to myself, and the opportunity arrived early, so I'm eagerly awaiting the actual day.

Next on the hit list is a GW-A1030A-1AJR.

Happy Birthday, dd! Ah, I see you're a man of the refined mechanical quality, firmly planted in the Omega camp. It's always refreshing to see someone be able to straddle both camps--mechanical and quartz-digital. The Aviator is a beautiful thing; you will definitely enjoy it for it's own unique styling and functionality.

Thanks to each of you for your kind words and for the birthday wishes! Needless to say, I can't wait to start wearing my Frogman. I've surprised myself with the self-restraint I've managed on this one - but I did unbox it, set the time, turn on the auto EL light, turn on the hourly signal and reverse the moon phase view!

I was drawn back to the G-Shock scene when I saw the GW-A1000RAF-1AJR. Unfortunately I missed out on the only reasonably priced one I could find. Then I started frequenting this Casio G-Shock sub-forum, and the rest is, as they say, history... I think I'm back on that slippery road to excess...

Many thanks to all of the regular contributors here that share their knowledge, opinions and passion so openly. It's another great place to 'hang' on WUS. I decided on the Frogman as my first G back as it is iconic, digital and a bit special among Gs. Thanks to the wrist-shots here, I determined the GF-8250 would be a better fit for my puny wrist than the larger GWF-1000... although the lure of the multi band 6 (that does not work in my part of the world) and the very cool right-hand pushers was hard to resist. I had to fly a little blind as the Frogman range is not available in New Zealand via authorised retail channels. They're only available locally via online parallel importers or the local auction site. I sourced mine off the 'bay.
The GW-A1030A-1AJR is next on my list because it is one of the few 'special' Gs that I have seen available in a local shop, and not at a huge premium. Then I will get a tough solar, multi band 6, negative display limited / collab square.

    Cheers to all!
