i put the blue guts in the white bezel, the white/orange guts in the green bezel, and the black/MS guts in the gloss back bezel.

personally, i think the gloss black with the black MS face, red eye, and red EL looks AMAZING. i dont know if it translates well in the pics, but its badass. plus i can grab the black clasp from the green band and make it totally blacked out. the white and neon blue combo also looks really nice, especially since the buttons are also blue and the white bezel has blue writing on it already. the only thing im torn on is the orange/white face with the green bezel/band, it looks ok but the blue buttons on the side dont really fit. and since each mod goes to the next in a circle, if one doesn't work, i have to put them all back or i end up with 2 cool watches and one ugly one.

what say you, Shockers? (EDITED: pics of finished mods below)

I like the black combo the best. The white-blue is nice but I am not the type who will wear them. The orange/white-green is quirky looking, especially with the blue buttons but I say go on with the mod. You can keep the 3rd as a donor watch, or maybe dye all the parts gray

wow! i think the white and blue combo looks amazing! i can see them putting that into production. the black combo looks good too, but black gshocks are always the classic look.
i would probably keep the bands with the matching bezels tho

the only thing im changing is the faces, each band will stay with each bezel. white band/bezel, gloss black band/bezel, etc. the problem is, the buttons have to come with the guts. in the case of the white one, it's kinda cool cuz it helps the overall blue and white look. but the green one looks a tad off having blue buttons and blue nowhere else.

the black one, however, is awesome. im putting the bands on it now, i think this will be my one and only black g-shock. didn't even occur to me that i didnt have a straight-up black G, so voila, im making one! lol.

finally said, screw it, switched the bands out (such a pain with this model).

but the results...ah, modding is a thing of beauty sometimes:

Re: Need opinions on a 3-way mod before i go further

The first two are SWEET!! the all black reminds me of Darth Vader for some reason...I guess it's the glossy finish. And the blue and white looks like something Casio should produce in very limited quantities...with a little 23 and NC on it, aka Jordan version. As for the green one...I love the color of the display and how it blends with the drab green. Looks like something out of the swamp! But the white inserts just don't work well. The EL pic almost makes the watch look grey, and that would look really good, but the green and white just doesn't do it for me. That one would have looked cool with just a module swap, leaving the balck inserts and orange eye with the orange screen. Glad you posted these...I love testing out little mods. You never know what it will look like until you try. Great job!

I like the green conversion... Isn't that the infamous SL1200 mkII in the background?

yes, my trusty Tech 12's :) good eye! they are nearly twenty years old, just had them overhauled and they still work like new, smooth as butter. they work nicer than some new ones, in fact.

i am totally in love with the black one, wore it all day today and it's a beast. the red EL looks great with the glossy finish, like Tsip said, it's reminiscent of darth vader's helmet, and the red EL reminds of his red lightsaber :)

not as noticeable, i took the shiny black clasp from the MS3 so every piece would shine black, and it looks like it was purchased this way. i didn't even have an all-black watch before now, and this one is the blackest i have ever seen in person.

i'll probably keep the white one too, but if anyone wants the green one, just PM me. i got two great custom G's out of this little endeavor, i'm happy :)
