    3D printed case for G-Shock

With the advancements in 3D printing, has anyone thought about making a case for G-Shock (square solar radio module) that can take a regular strap a la digital watches from days gone by?

The idea of 3-D replacement bezels has come up frequently.

Do you mean the CASE CENTER (where the module stays) or just the bezel? I'd read some postings regarding DIY bezel before but not the case center.

He means "case"... because he's talking about lugs that can take a regular sized strap.

Bezels have been 3D laser printed, so I guess it's only a matter of time before someone can create one to replace a hard resin case. I expect the type of plastic used won't be nearly as good as the hard resin CASIO uses in their traditional manufacturing process.

He didn't say about LUGS... you brought it out. See the original post.

"...that can take a regular strap"
it's pretty much implied in the first post....

Direct answer is no, I don't think anyone has tried (or at least posted about an attempt) to make a 3-d printed case. Would be cool though and allow for a current module to be used. Kind of like using a Seiko auto movement in a micro-brand watch :)

If you search on here there was a member working on a printed case (not bezel). He actually printed a few prototypes in plastic, with the ultimate goal of printing it in steel. Seems like it was for a 6900 model. Can't remember exactly, but you should be able to find it.

Edit: the thread was titled "making a g shock" by member shocker21.

Encourage someone. The world has enough critics.
