    Unhappy 7900B tones or sounds not working?

    Hello;

    I have a newer 7900B and i can not get any of the tones to work, hourly signal tone, button tones, timer tone, and alarm tones don't sound. The watch is not set to "mute" and everything else is working fine (I followed everything in the manual also). This has me stumped! Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. btw The watch has never been taken apart and has never been dropped or anything outside of what the watch is designed to handle.

    Thanks all for your help.

    Sounds to me like your alarm spring has come loose or was somehow damaged. The alarm spring is a very small spring that connects the case back to the watch itself. It is common for this spring to go missing during battery changes, especially if the watch is moved with the case back removed. This spring provides power to the alarm beeper. I'd carefully remove your case back and ensure the spring is in place.

    Yes could be the spring, or worse, the speaker itself.

    Is it a brand new watch ? Is the battery full or at least in medium ?

    The watch is about 5 months old, bought it from a guy i work with. He said he never used the alarms so he never really paid attention to it. Being a solar powered watch i'm pretty sure the back has never been off the case. the watch reads in the high level for being charged. Again everything else on the watch works like it should.

    If you don't feel comfortable you could take it to a jeweler, but it's definitely worth taking a look to check the alarm spring. Who knows, if it is the spring it could be a simple fix.

    If you decide to give it a go yourself there are lots of good YouTube videos and countless threads in these forums explaining how to do so.

    Let us know how it shakes out!

    Are these in stock anywhere in the United States? I can't find them! I specifically want the GDX6930E-9.

    Thanks guys!
