I have been nosing around this here forum for the last few weeks and can't believe it took me that long!
I had an old G, a DW004 I believe in blue. I wore it everyday for what seemed to be close to 5 years. Then one day I went to the mall and got the battery replaced and the shmuck working the kiosk didn't replace the seal right and the case leaked when I was in the pool and that was the end of that.
The year after that I was travelling in the states and saw the street rider Ana-digi. I think the model is a G-350-5AV. I never really wore it all that much. Still don't.
Fast forward a few years to this past February, my wife and our kids went to Florida for our winter getaway and I saw the DW5600ms-1. It was also our 5 year anniversary so my wife picked up a baby-g in pink and I grabbed the 5600. It begins again.......
Well, a few weeks back I saw a FT post from a member here on WUS and He had a Ocean Grey 5025D and we made a deal and I have been wearing it in the rotation for the last three weeks or so. Loving it. (Great guy to deal with by the way, member name is Too Solid.)
Then I saw pics of the Zombie Killer....had to have one. Found one on craigslist for $60.00 CAD. Not too bad.
Then I saw pics of cats on this forum dyeing their jellies. Oh my.
My wife had an old purple baby-g that I bought for her when we first got together. The band was disgusting looking and she had not worn it in years due to the fact that it was in such rough looking shape. I read the instructions on how to use RIT and that was that.
She has been wearing it everyday since I dyed it and loves the colour. So a big thanks to everyone that put up a tutorial!
Here is the G-family:
So, as the story usually goes......I am now hunting for a few others. Living in Canada makes things a little harder, but hopefully everything falls in line and I can grab some more of these gems.
Funny that after collecting more expensive autos and hand wind models that G's seem like so much fun to collect. I am now thinking of getting rid of a few autos here and there to buy more G-shocks.
Thanks for reading!
