Am I the first with a G-7900? Short review and pics.

See what the DHL girl brings today:

    The black-red G-7900

    First impression after unpacking:
    WOW, that thing looks huge!
So i made a short comparsion shot with the well known DW-6900.

The size of the housing is not much larger then on the DW-6900 but due to the broader strap and the thick housing the wrist presence is much higher.
For me it wears as large as a Frogman.

Here the lug and strap connection:

The strap is broader on the lug then at any G I ever saw.
It tapers back to the size of the broader DW-6900MS strap at the buckle.
There are DW-9052-like cuffs under the strap. The strap itself is straight like on the DW-9052 or DW-6400.

So a short look at the modes:

    Timekeeping:

    Tide display:

STW1 (as STW2) showing time before starting the STW:

After starting the STW time disappeares and hours are visible:

    Timer:

    Alarm:

    Worldtime:

    Night vision shot :

    Overall impressions:

Huge and oldfashioned G, a modern classic!

Almost looks like a fake G, but I like it nonetheless. Enjoy. Mike

I was planning on getting this watch in September (In red and/or yellow) but something about the display just doesn't do it for me. I like the size and everything but the face is very uninteresting despite being very busy. Idk I'll probably still get it and I hope I like the live version more than the pictures.

    Bought it at Amazon.de
I was also very surprised to get it delivered in one day, its not even listed in the Casio.de product lineup.
