You could well be, it's a good idea to get that extra bit of comfort and the finish seems to blend in well. I've tried the GW-5000 parts on a DW-5600E and DW-5000SL and they also look great.
Just ordered mine from Casio 800 223-2001
it was $14 plus 4.95 shipping. I was going to try a DW-5600 strap, and I came across this post while I was ordering it! If this one is a little nicer, that will be great. Thanks guys!
Are we talking about the soft urethane strap from the Japan release GW-5000-1JF? I have seen it being sold for much more money than that. At that price I might like to have one on hand for my carbon fiber GW-S5600. It has the same module so it should probably fit. Any one know for sure?
I just ordered one plus a GW5000 bezel as well, for my Ocean Gray. Casio USA said they are on backorder, and at 14.50 and 9.50 I figured what the heck. If the strap is all that and a bag of chips then there are other G's that it will adorn as well.
Ahhh, so THAT'S why the lady said "2 to 3 weeks". She was nice, but had a pretty strong accent, there was a bit of communication difficulty. I guess there's no way to know WHEN they will get them.....
The same band but with bezel as well, costs $71 from Chino in Japan. Shipping probably bumps up the price, but, that is a huge difference. I have to trust that it is the same band. The price from Casio here is awesome.
GOT my GW-5000 strap yesterday, put it on my GW6900 this morning, man is it NICE. DEFINITELY soft, happens to fit me perfectly (not in between notches), VERY comfortable. I will probably trim the end (don't care for the tail hanging out), has anyone tried the "blue jeans" polishing technique on these softer straps?
The GW5000 strap definitely works better for smaller wrist size
