Another Lunitidal thread... Malaga info needed... Just received a GLX-5600

    Hi Guys,

I've just added another one to the collection, a GLX-5600 in black. Absolutely love the watch and will sort some pics out with it soon.

Now then, the tide graph feature is something I don't need here in Manchester but it would be good to have when we visit my mum's apartment in Spain soon.

I've looked at Sjors thread about this and then searched the internet but I can't find a "quick fix" thread.

Can someone help me to set up the watch for the Malaga area of Spain?

Either that or if someone could give me a simple how-to, it'd be appreciated

Was this the thread you saw? When I did mine I just followed those instructions, but then promptly forgot all about it once set

Here's a quick calculation I did for September 18, 2009 (all times are in the 24 hour format & local times):
    Moon rise = 0736
    Moon set = 1956
Moon transit (when the moon is at it's peak or middle of the cycle) = 1346
Next high tide AFTER the moon transit = 1549
    Lunitidal difference = [1549 - 1346] 2 hours 3 minutes
Hope this helps. The lunitidal difference will change a little bit every day, but it shouldn't matter that much with a watch that shows the tide in 2 hour blocks. Try this setting & see when it predicts the tide for the area; I think you'll find it accurrate enough.

I used these web sites for the information:
    Malaga, Spain tide information:

    Malaga, Spain moon information:

    Thanks very much

I'm pretty savvy at maths but I'm still lost with all those timings lol.

I've set the watch as 4 degrees west for the longitude value as it only covers whole digits by the looks of things... it should be 4.25 according to the weather website.

    Thanks again
