Wow, I read it yestrday on a Japanese forum, where it was discussed (It was brought up by nobody else than Mr. Katsu San!). I didn't see the pictures. I first thought it was a typo. I always have said I liked the DW-5500 of the first DW-5X00 series, so I think I must get one. A pity they didn't use the name "G-Shock II" anymore. What's next, GW-5500? :-D

    Cheers,

    Sjors

Agreed. There's retro, and then there's dead for a reason.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

    Greetings All,
    Nice shirt Sjors.:-D

I think this recent re-release indicates clearly that b_anderson was SPOT ON in his analysis of the new MUDMAN. Thanks for the info positivelyal.

I still find it amazing how much the G-shock II straps still fetch on Yahoo.
Fingers crossed for Casio to start issuing their mainstream models with a screwback.

    Freakin' Sweet

I happen to love the G-Shock II (aka DW-5500)

It is a great watch and dispite having the same screwback shape as the DW-5200 it is very comfertable due to its shape. The straps are quite hard and $$$$$ to buy and the bezel (which intergrates the buttons) is non existant to find.

Finally casio is making amends for that horrible GW-500

Please Casio come out with a GW-5500J

    Leon
