Anyone ever purchased a module from Casio?

Has anyone purchased a module from Casio? My module finally arrives and I noticed a spot on it. Wondering if theres a protective screen covering it that I have to peel off. Anyone out there that can answer my question. I really don't want to send it back.

I haven't , but it's more than likely the lcd has a protective transit sheet on it, take a look round the periphery for a oversized tab extending beyond the area of the panel, with a loupe preferably.

At the very edge (preferably at the clear bit top left or right) try (VERY DELICATELY!) with a scalpel to feel for an easily liftable sheet, but obviously don't go hacking at it! and obviously don't go trying to remove any sheet/layer that's meant to be there, just feel for it with the blade edge. You could also try a small piece of sellotape to catch hold of any sheet at the edge.

    Hope it's a protective film.

I agree it's almost certainly got to be a protective film - it's hard to tell from your photo how uniform it is, but I think the dot is there to make it obvious film is on it. I cannot imagine Casio NOT using a protective film on loose modules actually.

I would go as per Watchma's steps above - just go very carefully as you don't want to damage the polarising film on the display itself.

I am pleased to say that yes it indeed was a protective film. Thank you everyone for your help.

Now does anyone know what the part number is for the module spacer? The metal ring and rubber one as well.

Maybe the OP should buy a NOS DW-6900 (even an used one) to re-use the parts, it might cost less at the end.
