This apple or that orange... (G9100-1 & G7900A-7)

Researching G-Shocks with moon/tide and in spite of reading how much love the Gulfman gets I kinda find the G7900A-7 more appealing. It doesn't seem to get as much love as the 9100 does. White certainly isn't for everyone but the white case and band with blue accents coupled with this display just comes together more.

I like the atomic GW versions of both models. One advantage to the Gulfman is some versions are titanium. The "revolver" Gulfman does not have tides.

    GW-7900.

GLX-150 is another non-atomic model with tides.

That GW-9110ER-2 is hard to come by at a reasonable price these days. It's a looker, though.

I can't even find reference to non-solar version.

As an aside having nothing to do with the watches, these floating adverts that can't be closed are more than annoying, they affect the functionality of the site.

I have, and like, both the G-7900A-4 (now with G-7900-2 resin) and the GW-9110-1. If I had to pick one, I'd pick the latter. I like the thinner case and the titanium parts.

I just had the same dilemma a couple of weeks ago. In the event, the phony screws and the larger size of the 7900 series put me off. Very happy with the G-9100 Gulfman I got!

You do also have the option of the GLX-5600's for moon & tide, there's an atomic version also, the GWX.

GLX-5600-1 with G-5600NV-2 resin. It has the same moon phase/tide setup as the G-7900: 4-segment moon phase, longitude/lunitidal interval for tides. Newer models, like the GWX-5600 and GW-9110, have the 8-segment moon phase and first high tide setting.

The GLX-5600 is much smaller than the G-7900, but the tiny buttons are harder to press and the alarm sound is much weaker.
