    Article - “I own 470 G-Shocks”

Not sure if this has been posted, and with recent posts about collecting and storing G-Shocks, can you beat 470 G-Shocks?

This is the most G-Shocks I had... almost one G-Shock everyday of the month. I have since sold 1/3 of them and kept one that matters to me:

    All the 35th anniversary

    30th anniversary (GW-M5630 and DW-5030 custom)

    Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A3

Rangeman GW-9400DCJ-1 (if G-Shock stayed true to its old school size instead of getting ridiculously bigger each year, the Rangeman would be the perfect, do-it-all, correctly sized watch.

GMW-B5000D-1 and GMW-B5000GD-9 (first square metal)

MTG-B1000-1A and MRG-G2000B-1A4 (one from each MTG and MRG line-up)

That's great for them! Until they realize that 470 x $150 (conservative average) = $70,500!!!

More power to 'em, if they can handle it!

Exactly what I thought... "a few Rolexes". With financial, space, and wrist constraint, I have to be very selective into what goes in the collection and what to let go. Buyer/seller remorse, part of the collecting experience, I guess.

Holy Cow!! I feel bad if any of my 7 G’s get left out of the rotation for more than a month. I would have to be institutionalized if I had that many choices. My wife would surely be the one to call the men in white coats to come and get me.

i think when you collect more than 100 models, some of them are bound to become display only.

    i dunno.

    i never had more than 12 watches ( no g-shock yet ).

i have many many memory with many watches, but the only one that is worthy is my all time favorite - the Tudor Submariner 79090.

"When the shadow of the sash appeared in the curtains it was between seven and eight o'clock and then I was in time again, hearing the watch. It was Grandfather's and when Father gave it to me he said I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire.... I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all your breath trying to conquer it."
