Oh, I think that would be quite permissible on a G-Shock forum.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I think the OP was talking about the linked thread, since it's the Affordable Watches section.

In any case, certain comments should be forgiven. After all, it's plain to see which watches are simply superior over the long term anyway.

Yes- I was definitely referring to the original thread in the affordables section. As much as I would hope that Ironman enjoyers in this forum would leave a post in that thread and that be it, I realize that in this forum I'm going to end up with half-dozen or more replies to my reference post here extolling the virtues of G-Shocks and horror stories about how people tried to like their Ironmans but they caught on fire, the display rearranged itself into a pornographic image at dinner with their future in-laws, the watch suddenly said it was eleventeen o'clock, or some nonsense like that.
I've never had an issue with Timex. I like both Timex and Casio and wear both.

I love my Ironman, best digital watch I've had. I probably like it more than the G-Shocks I've owned, in terms of usability, readability, features, "common sense" digital watch making.

If there was one thing I would change is to bring the quality level up to the Casios then Ironman watches would almost be the perfect and probably the best digitals on the market imo (excluding analog as I don't have any experience to say). There is a clear difference in quality when comparing same price units. At the moment I think I would stick to both purely due to this fact but if I had to drop one at the moment it'd be the G-Shocks . I wear the Ironman more at the moment, I just prefer it more.

Sure, I'll show my appreciation and I'll take some new picture of my Ironman watch and give a brief run down on why I like it on the other side!

i'll reply on the other thread as well, but i admit to liking the display and comfort of the Ironman 'Sleek' line quite a bit.

but both i had only lasted about a year each. buttons wore out or they were scratched to illegibility.

the original ironman's face is classic. great mashup of color and edges and practicality approaching the retro geek-chic status of the dw5000. and the modern ironman's module (i was playing with one at the department store last week) is pretty darn well thought-out. more than just being thought-out, it's like visiting a foreign country and hearing an unknown language after being immersed in casio's sometimes inscrutably austere interfaces. i actually like a lot that the two brands have very unique approaches, but some of these ideas would be well worth casio absorbing.

Yea, just stuck a few of mine on there! I was actually a long time Ironman fan before I fell head over hills for the G-Shock!

Love Ironmans as well. Got two Shock versions, one solar and one not. Both easy to read and tough as nails....!!
