Question Automatic light - do you use it or not?

One of features I love on my new G-Shock is automatic backlight option.

It is really cool, and it doesn't bother me if it sometimes accidentaly turns on since the watch is tough solar, so no battery worries there.
Even when driving it is not a problem for me.
Good thing with solar panel is that it also serves as ambient light level detector.

But as far as I could discern from reading the forums, some people love this feature and some never use it.

So here is one poll for you about the usage of backlight.

When I got my first Tough Solar Gshock I was thinking... why would anyone want auto el?
Now, I think it's one of my top features when choosing a watch. The guys at work love it too.
I have more G-Shocks than I need, but not as many G-Shocks as I want!

I'm pretty sure there was a poll on this topic before. I use it most of the time.
Couple of watches here and there

I did look for the similar poll but couldn't find it...
    Sorry if it already exists.

I would leave it on the whole time if mine was solar. Always seem to miss the "G" button in the dark too so it would be a good feature for a quick glance

    That last poll is HERE

I keep it on all the time on my solar Riseman, on my battery ones I turn it on as needed, and it always turns itself off automatically after 6 hours anyway.

    DW-004ASJ-8AT (stealthed)
    DW-9800 Wademan AR-3T ARTI
    DW-8800AJ ADMA's Full set of 5

    Wish List:

    G-9000-8DVR Stormtrooper - GW-9100MB-1JF Gulfman - FTS-100 Forester

Well, if he had used a bit easier title for the post, then I would probably manage to find it...

The light in my GW300 burned out. Next Casio I'm going to turn off the feature to preserve the light.

I find AutoEL very useful when driving at night or early in the morning.
