    Aviation GW3000BB-1A issues

    Hey guys,

Just the other day my Aviation got for lack of a better word "stuck" at 12:20pm and the hour and minute hands haven't moved since. The seconds hand continues to rotate, but the time doesn't advance. Has anyone had this or a similar issue and if so, how did you remedy it? I've tried to change the home city settings, re-sync and nothing is working. I've reaching out to Casio USA support and as expected, they want me to send it to them to have a look at. Trying to avoid that as I don't want to part with my daily beater!

Any help anyone can provide would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    SJL

I had the watch on the windowsill for a full day even after wearing it all weekend. I would assume that would have charged it back up if that was indeed the issue?

According to the manual, if the hour AND the minute hand were both stopped and pointing at 12 o'clock, that would indeed be a battery issue. The fact that the hands are stuck at 12:20, and the fact that the second hand is still moving, suggests that it might not be.

IF it was a battery issue, a full day of sunlight through a window should have been enough to bring the watch back to "level 1" and normal operation, but would not have been anywhere close to the 96 hours required for a full charge.

You might want to leave it on the windowsill for a few more days JUST IN CASE the battery is the problem, but the watch may still need to go back to Casio for service.

I was thinking the same thing Mike K. I will try that again before sending it off to Casio. The one silver lining in all of this if I have to send it back is they are located in NJ, as am I.

From research of this watch it is not normal for it to behave this way. The battery should last at least 10 years min to 15 yrs max. However, from what I read if you let the battery go down to 0 it shortens the life of the battery.

I'm going to try to leave it on the windowsill for the next several days and we'll see what happens. If still no luck after the weekend, I'll send it off to Casio USA to see if they can address the issue. Will let you know what happens. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry, I did not know how to create a new thread. Just recently, the orange hand for the days and indicator mode is out of alignment (pictures attached). Other than that everything seems to be working normally. The situation is pretty annoying since I can't see the current mode of the watch. Any idea guys? Do you think it is worth sending for repairs (bought in 06/2012)Name: 20160922_143401_1474569299624.jpg
