    AWG 100 Battery replacement

Can anyone explain the proper procedure for replacing batteries and performing a reset on a AWG 100 with the 5230 dual battery module?

Are you shure about the model no?
The AWG-100 is a solar watch with just one cell.
And none of my 2 needed replacement yet.

You see no pictures in my post?
Photobucket decided to lock my pics behind a 40$/month prescription service.
I used their services since 2009 so the most of my old threads have Photobucket pics inside.
If you stumble across one of those threads and want to see the pic, PM me and i will re-attach it.
What can we learn from all the lost information?

I had to check, but It's an AWG M100.

My brother took this one apart and replaced batteries when he should have just let it charge in the sun.

File this under "you learn something new every day".

The 5230 module has two battery slots, but only one is used, at least in the AWG application. From what I can tell, when my brother thought the battery was dead, he installed a battery in the second slot and did nothing to the original battery in the first slot. I put a known good battery on slot one and the watch powers up with no issues.

If anyone knows the purpose of second battery slot I'd like to know.

I don't know if this module has a version that isn't solar, but I do know that ana/digi modules with two batteries normally have one running the backlight and one running the analogue movement.

For confirmation, I opened my AWG-100B, and it's only using the primary battery. I'd be interested to know if there's a benefit to installing a second battery.

I'm assuming here that your module is designed to only need the one battery, but the non solar version needs both.

The two are also most likely to have different module numbers, but be nearly identical if that makes sense?
