    Awg-101-1aer

    Hi there,
I'm just new here, I currently have a Black G100 which I've had for around 3 years and it has just had a battery change. Now it is as waterproof as the Titanic.

Anyway, I was thinking of buying this model, G-Shock AWG-101-1AER, but I'm a little confused about the need to change the battery in it.

    Looking on the Casio website,
    http://www.casio.co.uk/Products/Watc...pecifications/

It says that it has a 3year battery life on CR1220?

Does this mean that the Battery still needs to be replaced every 3 years or not? I thought the purpose of solar power was that you don't need to replace the battery every 3 years.

Can anyone tell me exactly what they mean when they say the Battery has a 3 year life?

    Thanks.
By the way this is a great forum for G-Shock fans.

    Cas.

Interesting. I don't think I've noticed that on another solar model before.

I believe the CR1220 is just a normal battery, not designed to be recharged. I think what you're seeing are the specs of battery life for a non-solar/non-atomic 101. Usually solar watches aren't shown with a battery life expectancy.

    Cas,

Check out the proper specs here: http://www.casio.com/products/Timepi...chnical_Specs/

It uses a CTL1616 battery, not the CR1220.

    Thanks for that Topher,

The Casio site I looked at is the UK one.

I'm from the UK and and it doesn't surprise me that they have made a mistake on their website.

No one seems to do anything properly over here and that includes changing batteries in G-Shocks.

    Thanks for your guidence.

    Cas
