Is a Baby Gshock size appropriate for a 5 year old girl?

I'm thinking of something like a Baby-G Blue Whale Digital Sport Watch BG169R-2 or a BG-169A-6VCR

Too big for a little girl?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Depends on how little your little girl.
The 560x series are slightly smaller and less bulky.

I believe there is a line called Mini Baby-G, not sure on exact measurements on those watches but it sounds like they would be something a child could wear. I'm also not sure on the specific functions those models have, but I figure you don't want something too complicated for a small one anyways.

The size might be appropriate, but IMO (as my daughter is a bit older now) she probably would be better learning to tell the time on an analogue watch first, rather than digital.

Check what they are teaching in school, in the UK they teach analogue clock times from ages 6-8, and then add digital in from about 8/9.

I wanted our daughter to learn to tell the time properly so I bought her a Timex Indiglo, when she's older I'll get her a G, when she's 100% happy with telling the time.

that one may, but I'd recommend the GWF-1000. I think she'll love it. :)

My boys wore baby-g's when they were about 8. I've never seen a comparison between a baby and a mini.
