    Battery Change for DW-8400BK

I recently came across someone who wishes to sell his DW-8400BK but according to his listing, the buyer would need to change the battery as the watch was stored away for a long time.

Does anyone know what type of battery is needed for the watch and is it widely available before? If it isn't, I might just have to find ways to purchase the battery in Japan. I can't ask him the seller directly as I can't read and write Japanese

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanx!

    It uses the common CR2016.

Easy to change the battery on these but you have to be careful how you handle it as the resin is really fragile on these. Could easily crumble over the buttons.

I suspect that is why the vendor doesn't want to change it himself.

Thank you for the heads-up. Never really thought about the resin crumbling. Well, if it's a good price, won't be able to resist the temptation.

Will post pics if deals go through.

    Thank you!

The resin is quite thin over the buttons and I don't think this old formulation of resin is as good as today's.

The DW-8400 Real Black is a bit of an iconic 'G' but it really should be just for collection purposes now. If it gets worn regularly and you keep pushing those buttons the resin WILL crumble over them and there are no replacement bezels out there..

    Mine says hello.

Also here is a picture taken during a battery change.

That's a beauty! How long have you had that? More importantly, how often do you wear it?

I just didn't think that I would come across a new unit for sale these days, u know?

I have had it a few years now but it doesn't get worn these days.

Changed the battery about six months ago.

A NOS Real Black Mudman would be very rare and I would expect it to go for quite a bit of cash.

As Gs go the 8400 is a simple beast.

    It's all about the resin...!

Mine still has the Japan sticker on the back. I never used to wear it but I am going to do so more often after our Casios are not forever thread...

In truth it's not the most comfortable Master of G. The ridges in the strap are huge meaning it's a bit like the King to wear - big wrists are advisable.

How would you know what's a fair price for certain models? I reckon this is a rather sought after model but wouldn't want to overpay for it. Any reference platform?

    Thank a bunch Mitch!
