BGX-200: does it have mineral glass or plastic crystal?

While handling this Baby-G model, I noticed some distinctively different feel and temperature of its crystal and those of other G-SHOCKs and Baby-Gs stored at the same location and ambient temperature. So I am suspecting that this watch in fact uses a plastic crystal instead of mineral glass. Any opinions from other owners?

Okay, I took a magnifying glass to examine the crystal and am coming to the conclusion that this model indeed uses a scratch-resistant plastic crystal. I can see some minor scratches and dings on the surface that I can't find on any glass crystal. Very, very strange. So far, I took for granted that the Gs all had glass crystals...

I would say mineral glass, as all Gs come with mineral glass.

    Yep, something 2002/2003-ish.

Yeah, that's why I am so seriously wondering about the significantly different touch. It's completely different from all the oter watches, including my MR-Gs and ProTrek, which are sharing the domed crystal with this Baby-G.

You could email Casio and ask them. They might know.

Doesn't at least one G-Shock have a synthetic crystal, possibly the Raysman? Also, all G-Shocks are 200m WR, but most Baby-G's are 100m, so it's possible other features might differ too.

Just try tapping it with a pen tip or something else metal. You should be able to tell from the sound. The mineral glass makes a clink. Anything duller sounding would point to something else.
