Brand new gift received yesterday (Modem Burner)

Hello all, I received this highly controversial piece as a gift last night. I can take it....HIT ME!!! I don't normally do the ol reveal the packaging blow by blow, but in this case I flt it would be fun Now in the spirit of surprise along with me, scroll slow fellas....play along

I opened the Fed Ex paper that came in overnighted and saw this box...

Opened the box first thing I saw was the manual

WOW that's thick, I think the thickest I've ever seen for a G-Shock....

Removed the manual, opened the inner cover and I saw the tin....

One of my favorite types of Casio Tins, I love the raised and indented lettering.....

Open the cover, and see a little treat wrapped in plastic....

    What could it be???

Ahhhh the case back reveals the MOLE....

That's right Fellas, everybody's favorite Mudman the GW-9010

Here are 2 shots with two different Angles. I do this because there is an interesting aspect to the display, it has a different look in different angles and I am liking the beehive look of the solar

Comparison with the Riseman (battery on Mudman was DOA, photos taken on low battery lower display was blinking LOW) so date and day were not present on this photo

    Obligatory Wrist Shots

Hope you enjoyed the show. My initial impression of the photos of this watch were as bad as anybody elses, I had no intention of purchasing it, I didn't like the look, come to think of it I originally kind of felt that way about the Riseman until Vintage posted his pics and review.

I know some of you will give it catcalls Thats quite alright. I will say this watch in person really gives a different impression than looking at the photos, it just looks so much better, I don't get it. For example switching between modes gives the scroll effect like the top of the Frogman except the whole main display does this, I like that alot. Buttons are a bit harder to press like the other Mudman watches....

The unique contrversial Time Keeping display features time, seconds, day, and date and displays alarms that are active, L M H battery meter, a G is displayed in the center eye when it is synched to the towers, the numbers one through ten above the eye count off seconds every ten seconds. It's got the 6 band Atomic, of course Tough Solar, and Modes featured are Rally Timer with save feature gives you a countdown on your mark get set go feature before the stopwatch kicks off, I am still figuring the feature out so I will post more when I do. World Time, 5 alarms with snooze and hourly time signal, Normal Stopwatch, 24 hour Countdown Timer.

So I will open it up to the forum, good bad or ugly, what do you guys think? Youtube review will commence tomorrow. Thanks for looking

Congrats! I saw the non-atomic version and this watch definitely looked much better than the pictures.

It's basically a Mudman, and you like it. That's all that matters.

Yes Yes I really couldnt make my mind up on this watch either. So I took the plunge with the gw-9000a which I really love the look of, It arrived today in the post along with a little friend for company, a dw-5600b stealth. Really happy with my new g's ive added to my collection, Especially as I have a good relationship with my g-shock supplier and hes now giving me a bit of discount on every purchase.
It is inevitable that I too will be a proud owner of a gw-9010 before too long!!!

    I like it

Just one question: What do the indicators marked 1-10 at the top of the display signify?

As the seconds progress each indicator marks a dot per second up until 10 seconds then marks white for the following ten seconds.

In the photo, you see it displays 1 second, look at the indicatoer dot....1 second.

hairiest wrist i have ever seen.... you must have to shave 2-3 times per day...

..so was it a "gift" ...if so, who gave that one to you?

nothing wrong with a mudman .... when I look at a muddy I think..

    not big, but not small.
    not overly pricey
    tough looking
    strap is a double clasp
