No G-Shock is worth $850, in my humble and prudent opinion.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I agree it is high, I think I am reading it correct but it looks like it was $850 or the seller was asking $850 then it says SOLD.

They can generally be found for $400 or less, depending on condition and whether the box and stuff is included. Check eBay regularly to find out how much stuff is going for. Also, just because one particular watch sells for $850 (and we don't know in this case, because it could have sold for less) doesn't mean that in a week or two you won't be able to buy one for $300.

    Re: Brazilian Frog worth

Every watch is worth as much as the buyer is willing to give.
If a had lots of money i wouldn't mind giving $850, $950, $1050, etc for a watch that i really like or desire.
The first G-shock that i bought i wouldn't sell it or at least not at the usually price for that model :-D :-D :-D .So some watches for some individuals have extra value
So, as long as there is someone out there willing to pay practically there is no limit. Each one of us sets his own limit based on his financial state and/or his common sense of logic (I don't like to feel that i have been robbed even if i can afford the price )

Well, I respect your decision to not pay that much for a G-Shock, but...

I'd pay $750 in a heartbeat for a BNIB Real Black, and maybe even a few dollars more.

Why? 3 Factors: 1) My heart, regarding aesthetics. 2) Collectibility. 3) Functionality.

Collecting is so subjective, and so delicately straddles the continuum of financial outlay on one end, and collector's passion on the other.

I have a couple of vintage clocks, that most guys wouldn't spend $800 for, but others would "die" for.

Someday, I'm looking forward to taking a picture of a Real Black, sitting on top of a 100 year old clock. Great great great grandpa, and son :):)

    Regards, Eric

Seen quite a few on ebay, usually going for $350-400 . . . over 400 is already a bit much. I mean, you could try to wait and search around for a good deal... paying over $400 just 'cause you want it NOW isn't always a good idea (a good example is the new Mudman... people paid over $100 when it first came out and now you can get one for like 60 bucks).
