    Confused Broken G9000-MS ... $105 replacement part?

Hi there! First post for me...

During some training the other day I managed break the watchband attachment point. I searched through the forums for repair/replacement advice and landed at the PacParts page.

The only thing on the parts list that appeared to fit what I need to replace is the "Case Center", which is a whopping $105.66. That seems unreasonable as I can buy the watch for $70-80 at the local PX. Am I looking at the wrong part or is that just how much they cost? If so, it looks like I'll be buying a new watch... or just wearing my Rangeman.

    Thank you!

How or why did it die?

It stopped working one day. A battery change didn't revive it. It was in "been to hell and back" condition when I acquired it.

Yeah, sometimes it's better just to pick up a functional used watch of the same model, with resin in bad condition... which can usually be had cheaply, then it becomes an oasis of nice spare parts. I once picked up a terrible condition DW-5700 -- no bezel, no strap, pitted glass... I've since cannibalized the shock mat, plastic spacer, and buttons. Not bad for $3.

But that's a very generous offer of you SunnyDaze.

Hah! I'm guessing my issue is an "issue".

And yes, it had a nice run. I've been wearing G-Shocks for ~20 years now and I've never had one fail until now... they either got ripped off jumping, fighting, or lost somehow. It's why I keep buying them.

Thanks for the help and comments everyone!
