Can this white G-shock be Dyed?

I read some of the guides and they said the "glossy" G-shocks cannot be painted. Is this considered glossy? i believe the white is painted, can i use a paint remover (such as acetone) to remove the paint and then dye it? i want to dye it a lime/neon green if it matters...thanks!

Also, how hard is it to take the band and bezel off and on this watch?

    Yes, for sure.

The DW-6900FS-8 comes with matte un-painted resin, so no problems dyeing it in your favorite color.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you do that, this model is unique and nice as is, IMO. Just keep in mind that the LE button is white plastic that normally cannot be dyed.

BTW, strap and bezel remove easily from this watch. Some basic jewellers Phillips and flat head screwdrivers should suffice.

    Welcome.

Yes, it should dye nicely. Just be careful. You can always order the white spare parts for this model to return it to white, or slap them on any DW-6900.

Welcome! Definately a fun and easy project, that bezel and strap will dye easily if you can find lime green dye! There is a how to section with complete details on how to do it, Definately post up pics when your finished!

To continue on the coated white resin question... is there anything recommended to remove the coating from those that do have it and will not dye well? For example a white GW-400/Silencer.

My MIRB frog had that sparkly shiny coating, more sparkly purple than grey and it dyed black with no problems, turned out great, the dye apparently soaked all the way through and has been holding up nicely. I wouldn't be afraid to dye one of the shinyer G's, would dye it for around 15 minutes or so, I would think it would be ok.

I was thinking of doing a camo pattern so not sure it taping off sections that are already "taped" off in a manner would get good results. I'd like to get all the shiny stuff off, maybe I'll try acetone or something.

I have no idea how to get that coating off. Let us know how it goes if you experiment with it. I don't recall anyone ever making a real attempt at it.

There is a complete colour chart at this link

    http://www.ritdye.com/Create_Custom_Color.9.lasso

They tell you how much of each base colour is needed for a custom colour

Example JADE GREEN 4 Tbsp Teal 2 Tbsp Yellow

    Hope this helps
