Lightbulb Care and Feeding of your G Shock!

How do you take care of your Gs?

Any tips on conditioning and cleaning and any other magic you do with your G Shocks to keep it looking and running great!

Welcome Dynamite. This question pops up every few months. Simply use an old toothbrush, nail brush with some mild dish soap and scrub under warm water and rinse well. That's it!

As for running great, they do that on their own.

The great thing about G-Shocks is that they look good even without a cleaning regimen. I do get the itch to scrub from time to time, but only on my non-black watches (my camo gray Mudman gets a periodic washing). Other than that, I just rub the mineral glass with a Q-tip to get rid of the smudges.

As for sustenance, I feed them Timexes.

Sucks to be without a G.

Never test their shock-resistance capability is the best way to keep your G-shock in best shape.

Yes Sir, I do believe you are right on this point! I have seen many "stress tests" on G Shock watches and these Jr. Mythbusters seem to forget that this is designed to be on your wrist. I would love to see some of the tests redone with these silly gits attached to there Gs!

I have also read that the "Magic Eraser" works well for getting scuffs off you G Shock. Is there any way to seal the resin from stains and condition the band maybe Armor All or something?

I use Cavicide wipes on my watch at least once daily and wash with germicidal soap in the sink every time I wash my hands (at least 20 time a day). That's why I bought a G-Shock.

If mine gets dirty (yard work, mud, etc.) I just rinse it off in the sink. I field dressed a deer with it on once, and after a quick wash it was good as new.

my wife is a charge nurse in med/surg ICU and is constantly dealing with blood, vomit, feces, being smacked around, patients in restraints, etc etc. her Baby G has been through it all and she does nothing but wash it with soap and water, and it still looks brand new.
