    Casio Edifice EFB-504J

Hey everyone, I know the Edifice line is well known here for its Speedy doppelganger (which I incidentally owned before I got into wristwatches). But I realise there isn't that much talk of the more premium models like this EFB-504JD-2. BTW, premium is relative here. This guy has a sharply-finished case, sapphire crystal, GMT hand and of course chronograph for just... 184 USD. Of course, corners are cut via the stamped clasp and caseback, but whatever. Did I mention its 100m water resistant? Good for those snorkeling trips.

There is alot of bang for the buck with the higher end edifice and lineage lines. These compare very positively to similar Oceanus models. That said, Oshi is top shelf but when you compare feature to feature, these models are tough to beat

Edifice is very nice line occasionally with nuclear level of bang for $
    It should be special!

I got mine last year for around $135 and not long ago, amazon had them for less than a Benjamin.

I recently put a battery on as well. Surprised it only lasted less than a year.

Great watch, but for some reason has not seen a lot of wrist time after Honey Moon period. Big let down... is not a true GMT and for a SS case, it is too light. I much prefer the rugged Solar below

    Re: Casio Edifice EFB-504J

I have a feeling that it may have been running out on its original battery. The first piece they brought out for me in the store had a dead one, probably because they were running the chrono while it was in the box. From what I can tell, this model was manufactured in early 2016... So original batteries should be giving up the ghost about now.

In terms of bang for your buck, Edifice tops all the other Casio lines in my opinion, and I own a bunch from each of them.

"When the shadow of the sash appeared in the curtains it was between seven and eight o'clock and then I was in time again, hearing the watch. It was Grandfather's and when Father gave it to me he said I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire.... I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all your breath trying to conquer it."
